About Sublime Science

How did it Start?
Sublime Science was founded in 2008 by Marc Wileman – better known to thousands of kids as "Mad Marc". Armed with a First Class Master's in Physics, years of experience as a science communicator, and a loan from the Prince's Trust, Marc set out to prove that science could be the most exciting thing in a kid's week – not the most boring.

Our Story
Marc's idea took off! A pitch on BBC's Dragons' Den won investment from two of the Dragons. A Queen's Award for Enterprise followed. So did a Netmums Award. And, more importantly, so did over a million children who've watched something explode, fizz, whoosh or take off at one of our parties, school workshops or festival events.

Today, our team of brilliant Presenters brings that same spark to birthday parties, schools, scouting groups, festivals and corporate events all over the UK. The mission hasn't changed: get kids hooked on science by making it unforgettable!
A new chapter...
Today, Sublime Science is part of Launchpad Publishing – home to Whizz Pop Bang and Hoopla magazines and Letterbox Lab – hands-on science kits for kids.
Founded by Jenny Inglis (a fellow physics graduate, equally passionate about getting kids hooked on science), Launchpad exists to bring science to life for every child – in print, in the post, and in person. Joining the family means Sublime Science events now sit alongside a whole ecosystem of ways for kids to discover, experiment, and fall in love with the world around them.
