How Did Sublime Science Start?
Making sweets and slime as science experiments from the Beaches of Sydney right over to the Australian Bush (in a pickuptruck no less!) was the “slightly” unusual inspiration for Sublime Science. After communicating science in Australia (as well as teaching in a school in Nottingham)...inspiration struck. Why not pick out all the best, most fun, most exciting science experiments learnt over the years, all over the world, and put them all together? ....Sublime Science was born!
Who Started Sublime Science?
Mad Marc (Marc Wileman on more sensible occasions!) founded Sublime Science with the sole intention of showing children how much fun science can be. He holds a First Class Masters Degree in Physics (Universities of Nottingham & Toronto) and has been a Professional Science Communicator (maker of slime & launcher of rockets!) across the UK, Canada and Australia.
Despite the qualifications Sublime Science is NOT all about equations and maths! It’s about children having real fun doing science, being inspired and entertained (and sneaking in the learning when they’re having too much fun to notice!)
Where Are We Now?
Well, those early parties & events do seem a distant memory but they must have gone well! Sublime Science is now operating out of four locations with a Talented Team of Experienced Science Presenters. (You can see if your area is covered here)
We are a proud to be an independent organisation that works with the British Science Association and is a member of the Federation of Small Businesses. We’ve kept our commitment to inspiring, entertaining and educating children with our unique blend of hands-on activities and awesome demonstrations. Don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Do We Do Anything Else?
Absolutely! We’ve designed a "Mad Scientist Tour of the Museum" for the prestigious Museum of Childhood, in London. We’ve entertained thousands of children at the Girl guiding Centenary Celebration (at the beautiful Belvior Castle!) and the National Playday Event. We’ve even ran a Sublime Science Lab in a Mercedes showroom (alongside some incredible cars).
We've also worked with the National Science Museum, hosted the Top Trumps National Final and written a book packed full of awesome experiments that you can do at home (get your free copy, here)

Sublime Science – East Midlands office organises children's entertainment across the region. Derbyshire children's entertainers cover: Derby, Chesterfield, Ilkeston, Swadlincote, Belper and Ashbourne. Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire provide kids parties across: Nottingham, Mansfield, Newark, Southwell, Grantham and Stamford. Leicestershire (our home) entertain children throughout: Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Lutterworth, Rutland, Oakham, Uppingham and Cottesmore.
Sublime Science are now able to entertain children beyond the East Midlands and this region now includes Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire too.
Sublime Science – West Midlands office provide our unique blend of children's entertainment all over the region. Our children's entertainers can now help out all over: Staffordshire, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Lichfield, Worcestershire, Dudley, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Warwickshire, Warwick, Birmingham, Coventry, Nuneaton, Rugby and Solihull.
