One million children!
All inspired to discover how awesome science can be.
My mind is officially boggled.
When I founded Sublime Science, with a £1,750 Prince’s Trust loan, during one of the worst recessions of all time I never would have imagined we’d make it this far.
Before I share the whole story. Let’s make science awesome for a few more kids…

Back to how we inspired one million plus children.
Being the “perfectly normal” 😉 person that I am, when I found myself with a bit of free time over the Christmas break I did what any sane person would do…
Went back through all of our booking data over the past 8 years and accurately worked out how many children we’d managed to inspire!
When the number that came back was more than 1 million I rechecked my maths. And checked it again.
And checked it one more time for luck.
Turns out over the past 8 and a half years we’ve inspired more than 1 million children to discover how awesome science can be.
Unbelievable. Makes all the hard work, worthwhile!
Even more importantly, it got me thinking of what the impact will be? Of those million children, how many more will go on to become scientists?
How many will use scientific thinking to have a more awesome life?
Will any of them end up creating one of the incredible breakthroughs of their generation (or of all time?)
Will the ‘nudge’ we gave them to discover how awesome science can be have made a tiny contribution? So many questions!?
All I know for sure is that I want to say a HUGE thank you to all the awesome people who’ve helped, inspired and supported along the way.
From our awesome team of Sublime Scientists to friends, family, mentors and all the other incredible folks who’ve helped. To the awesome humans who booked us in and the budding slime making scientists who loved the experiments…
Thank YOU so much. YOU are awesome,
Here’s to inspiring the next million!
P.S. For the mathematically inclined folks. Yes, I had to use some averages and things. No, I didn’t include TV appearances. Just for fun, if we combine all the exposure from Dragons Den, The Dragons Den follow-up documentary, ITV This Morning and other TV “stuff” the absolute total jumps up to around 6.5 Millon. Gulp!
P.P.S. Stay awesome! 😀
